Way Kuo is President at City University of Hong Kong. He is a Member of US National Academy of Engineering, and a Foreign Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Russian Academy of Engineering.

Before joining CityU, Professor Kuo was on the Senior Management team of Oak Ridge National Lab and served as Dean of Engineering at the University of Tennessee and Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Texas A&M University. He received PhD in engineering in 1980 from Kansas State University, and BS in nuclear engineering in 1972 from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.

Professor Kuo specialises in design for reliability of electronics systems. Among other well recognized technical books, his popular science book Critical Reflections on Nuclear and Renewable Energy has created an impact since its publication in 2013 by Commonwealth Publishing Group in Taiwan. The book has been translated into English, Japanese, French, Russian, and Korean, published in Massachusetts, Tokyo, Paris, Moscow and Seoul, respectively. This book has also been published in Hong Kong and Beijing in both traditional and simpli ed Chinese under different titles.

Prof. Zhenghua Jiang was the vice-chairman of the 10th Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. And now he is the chairman of China Science Centre of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, and the chairman of the Eurasian System Science Research Association. Prior to his current appointments, Prof. Jiang was also the vice-chairman of the 9th Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (1998-2003) and the chairman of the 12th Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (1997-2002).

Prof. Jiang studied Electrical Engineering at Jiaotong University and received his postgraduate degree at the International Demography Academy. Prof. Jiang has significant contribution to the academia. He was appointed as professor in Xi’an Jiaotong University, and visiting professor at University of Paris and Stanford University.

Prof. Jiang is an internationally renowned demographer. He was awarded twice the State Scientific and Technological Award, and received the Gold Medal from Bombay International Demography Academy, India. He was invited to several United Nations expert meetings, and was invited to give talks at Tsinghua University, Beijing University, Renmin University of China, Harvard University, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University, University of Cambridge, University of Leuven, and Paris Institute of Political Studies.

Prof. Jiang has published various journals and articles that contributed to the field. He has cultivated a great number of graduate and postgraduate students in the field, and now continues to guide postgraduate students.

Distinguished Guests, Friends：

I am delighted to welcome you to the Third GOSS Forum which this year is being jointly organized with the College of Business CityU of Hong Kong, the RMI NUS Singapore and GOSS Institute of Research Management. It is my special pleasure that The Eurasian Systems Science Research Association is holding this significant Forum jointly with our other partners. On behalf of all the organizers I warmly welcome all of you.

The theme of this Forum is the "OBOR Initiative - Our Benefits Our Risks". This has a wonderful dual meaning: it not only considers the relationship between benefit and risk from an investment perspective, but it also matches the "One Belt One Road” Initiative which is the most significant economic development in the world today. Next week the "2017 One Belt One Road Summit” will be held in Beijing. That high-level Summit, will stress the importance of cooperation among countries in the world. It will show to the world that the greatest achievement of the "One Belt One Road" Initiative may be the deepening of tolerance and understanding among different cultures, as well as the building of a worldwide community truly committed to a situation where everyone benefits.

The focus of our Forum is economic issues and the benefits and risks of investment. However, in today's world, how can economic and political problems be separated from each other? In the words of an old Chinese saying: “Jade in the mountains brings benefits to vegetation，Spray makes the cliff is not dry” (《Xunzi Quanxue (荀子·劝学)》

Moreover, the scope of the "OBOR” Initiative goes far beyond simply economic issues, and even more so from the perspectives of benefits and risks. Fortunately, the participants of this Forum have a wide range of interdisciplinary academic and industry backgrounds. This provides a broad perspective for us to explore the theme of the Forum, to make a more profound analysis, and to establish a more effective solution. The fruitful achievements of the previous two Forums have fully proved this.

Former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Congress, Chairman of the Eurasian Systems Science Research Association

Mr. Chen Shuang, is a member of the Executive Committee and the Strategy Committee of the Board, the Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman of the Management Decision Committee of the Group. He is responsible for the overall operation of the Group. Mr. Chen is also an executive director and deputy general manager of` China Everbright Holdings Company Limited and an executive director, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (stock code: HK 1848). Mr. Chen was an independent director of Noah Holdings Limited (stock code: NOAH.N) from November 2010 to April 2015, was a director of Everbright Securities Company Limited (stock code: SH 601788) from August 2007 to October 2014, was a supervisor of China Everbright Bank Company Limited (stock code: SH 601818, HK 6818) from December 2007 to October 2014 and was an independent non-executive director of China Nonferrous Mining Corporation Limited (stock code: HK 1258) from June 2012 to August 2014. He is currently a non-official member of Financial Services Development Council, the Honorary Chairman of Chinese Financial Association of Hong Kong, the Vice-Chairman of Chinese Securities Association of Hong Kong, the ninth Rotating Chairman of China Mergers and Acquisitions Association, the Standing Committee Member of the Center for China and Globalization and the visiting professor of East China University of Political Science and Law. Mr. Chen holds a Master of Laws Degree from East China University of Political Science and Law and a Diploma in Legal Studies from the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the University of Hong Kong. He is a qualified lawyer in the PRC and a senior economist. Prior to joining China Everbright Group, Mr. Chen was the Chief of the Legal Department of Bank of Communications. He has over 22 years of extensive experience in commercial banking and investment banking. He joined the Board in August 2004.

Dr. Kam-Chung Leung, Antony, has been Senior Managing Director and Chairman of Blackstone Greater China of The Blackstone Group, Private Equity Group since January 10, 2007.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Leung served as the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong from 2001 to 2003. He was also actively involved in public services. He was an unofficial member of the Executive Council (1997–2001 April) and was responsible for Education Reform when he was the chairman of Education Commission (1998–2001 April).

Before taking up the Financial Secretary post, Mr. Leung has 28 years' working experience in the financial company. He served as the Chairman of Asia at JP Morgan Chase & Co. He worked at Citigroup in various positions including the Country Corporate Officer for China and Hong Kong; the Regional Treasurer; a Division Head of Investment Banking for North Asia and South West Asia; and the Head of Private Banking for Asia.

Community service that Mr. Leung engaged in included Chairman of the University Grants Committee, Member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, Board of Hong Kong Airport Authority, Director of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange, Preparatory Committee of Hong Kong Special Administration Region, Election Committee and Hong Kong Affairs Advisors to the Chinese Government. He also served as an Independent Director of China Mobile Limited, American International Assurance Company, international Advisory Board Member of China Development Bank and European Advisory Group. He was a Board Member of Hong Kong Company Limited.

Mr. Leung graduated from the University of Hong Kong, with honors, in 1973 and attended Harvard Business School’s Management Development and Advanced Management Program.

His public service in Hong Kong was highly recognized, he was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star and an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. Mr. Leung was conferred an honorary Doctor of Law by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Mr. Leung currently serves as Vice Chairman of China Bluestar Group, International Advisory Board member of Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management, and the Chairman of Heifer International, Hong Kong.

Professor Ba Shusong is Chief China Economist of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). He is also Chief Economist of the China Banking Association, a member of the HKSAR Government's Economic Development Commission, Deputy Secretary General of China Society of Macroeconomics, a member of MOFCOM's (Ministry of Commerce) Advisory Committee on Economic and Trade Policy, a member of CBRC’s Expert Guidance Committee for the banking industry’s implementation of the new Basel capital accord, a member of CSRC’s M&A Specialists Committee, and a member of China’s “13th Five-Year Plan” National Development and Planning Specialists Committee. Professor Ba is a fellow of experts who receive the State Council Special Allowance. He was previously Deputy General Manager of the Bank of China Hangzhou Branch, Assistant General Manager of Bank of China (Hong Kong), Director-general of the Strategy and Development Committee of the Securities Association of China, and Deputy Director-general of the Financial Research Institute of the State Council's Development Research Centre. He was engaged in post-doctoral researches in the China Center for Economic Research at Peking University, and was appointed as the Chief Researcher in “International Economic and Financial Structure” by the State Council's Development Research Centre and was also a senior visiting scholar at Columbia Business School.

Professor Ba has published a number of academic articles and books on the new Basel capital accord and China’s economic and financial development. He received the Global Youth Leader award from the World Economic Forum in 2009.

Jianbo Gao received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA in 2000, taught at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Florida (Gainesville), and collaborated with the Air Force Research Lab at Dayton Ohio, as a research Professor at Wright State University. He specializes in sophisticated physical and mathematical techniques to solve data-driven real-world problems in electrical engineering, bioengineering, finance, and the geo- and environmental sciences. He is a leading expert on multiscale analysis and nonlinear time series analysis. His book, "Multiscale Analysis of Complex Time Series: Integration of Chaos and Random Fractal Theory, and Beyond", is the first of its kind, and a highly praised book in the field. From 2004 to 2006, he was an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering and Signal Processing. Since 2013, he has been a Distinguished Professor and founding director of Institute of Complexity Science and Big Data Technology at Guangxi University, researching on dynamical evolution of world-wide political conflicts, modeling of global terrorism, forewarning of systemic risks and policy shocks in finance, and developing novel medical informatics tools for clinical use.

Henry Tillman has an international business career of nearly 35 years. The initial decade was spent based in New York with major investment banks, focused mostly on advising on US organizations on M&A and capital raising. Since 1992, he has been based in London, including a senior management role at Barclays Group, with a focus on Europe and Southeast Asia and at ABN AMRO, where he was a Wholesale Banking Board Member, managing a global business with a focus on Emerging Markets, in particular Asia. In 2003, Mr. Tillman founded Grisons Peak, a London based, Asian focused merchant bank which has completed over €25 billion in advisory assignments since inception. In 2008, he founded China Outbound Investments, which tracks and analyses G2G agreements, Chinese Government related loans and M&A/equity investments in a single quarterly report, all of which have been reconciled with original source documents whenever possible. This database also includes bespoke capabilities which measure Chinese Government related loans linked to individual infrastructure/renewable energy projects since 2013.

Yankun joined UBS in October 2011, and is Head of China Equity Research and Head of Asia Auto Research. He covers the Auto, Auto Parts and Dealership sectors. He previously worked at Lehman Brothers and Nomura for five years, covering China Autos and China Industrials. Yankun was ranked No. 1 Auto Analyst by Institutional Investor from 2010 till 2014. Yankun earned an MBA from Cornell University in 2005. From 1995 to 1999, he studied at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and majored in Chemistry. After graduation, he worked at Yale University Medical School as a research scientist developing new pharmaceuticals.

Upon graduating with a PhD from University of East Anglia, England, in 1987 under the Overseas Research Scheme awarded by the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals of the Universities of the United Kingdom. He joined the banking sector as a treasury manager and served as secretary to the Assets and Liabilities Committee for three years, there after he taught at the Department of Economics and Statistics, National University of Singapore, 1990-1993. Dr Tan joined Nanyang Technological University in 1993 and was Associate Dean, Graduate Studies Office, 2007-2009. He is now with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.

Dr Tan has consulted extensively with the various government ministries, statutory boards and government linked companies of Singapore government including Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade & Industry, Ministry of Manpower, Housing & Development Board, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Singapore Tourism Board, Trade Development Board, Maritime Port Authority, Ministry of Information, Culture & Arts, Economic Development Board, Ministry of National Development, Media Development Authority, Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Singapore Design Council, Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports, Singapore Press Holdings, Mendaki, StarHub, Capital Land and Great Eastern Life on policies concerning financial, fiscal, trade, tourism, public housing, labor, telecommunication, tourism, liveable cities, creative industry, media, community development, airport and seaport activities. He has also served as a consultant to international agencies such as the Asian Development Bank, Asian Development Bank Institute, United Nations Industrial Development Group, World Gold Council, ASEAN Secretariat, Central Policy Unit of Hong Kong, Kerzner International, Las Vegas Sands and Marina Bay Sands.

Dr Tan is the lead author for 20 books and published in international refereed journals such as Applied Economics (UK), ASEAN Economic Bulletin (Singapore), Asian Economic Papers (US), Competitiveness Review (UK), International Journal of Business Competition and Growth (UK), International Journal of Chinese Culture and Business Management (UK), International Journal of Economics and Business Research (UK), International Journal of Indian Culture and Business Management (UK), Journal of Centrum Cathedra The Business and Economics Research Journal (Peru), Journal of International Commerce, Economics and Policy (UK), Journal of Southeast Asian Economies (Singapore), Review of Pacific Basin Financial Markets and Policies (US), and World Review of Science, Technology and Sustainable Development (Switzerland). He is the associate editor of the journal Review of Pacific Basin Financial Markets and Policies (US) and is on the editorial advisory board of the journal Competitiveness Review (UK). His current research interests include econometric forecasting, Cost of Living Index, Global Liveable Cities Index and competitiveness analysis on 31 provinces in China, 35 states in India and ASEAN-10 economies.

Dr Tan was Deputy President of the Singapore Economic Society, 2004. He served in the 2002 Economic Review Committee (ERC), served as Chairman of the Task Force on Portable Medical Benefits (PMB), served as the Deputy Chairman of the IPS Forum for Economic Restructuring (IFER) in 2003 and served as a member of the Resource Panel of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Transport and Government Parliamentary Committee for Finance and Trade & Industry and Government Parliamentary Committee for Defence and Foreign Affairs since 2007.

Dr Tan has extensively advised and guided multinational corporations leading to public listings especially those companies from Mainland China and Taiwan. He is also currently an Independent Director of the publicly listed BreadTalk Group, Boustead Projects, TEE Land and Chengdu Rural Commercial Bank.

Prof. Gang Lu received his Ph.D. Laws from Department of Political Education at East China Normal University (ECNU) in 1997. Prof. Lu is now the director of the Institute for International Studies at ECNU. Prior to that, Prof. Lu was appointed as an associate professor of the Institute for International Studies at ECNU (1992-2002) and as an assistant research fellow of the Shanghai Institute for Soviet and Eastern European Studies at ECNU (1985-1992).

Prof. Lu has extensive working experience. He was the council of Think Tank Alliance for “Belt and Road” Studies, syndic of International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of CPC, and the standing director of Shanghai International Strategic Research Association (2013-2016). He was the researcher of the Shanghai International Strategic Research Association (2012-2013). From 2008 to 2012, he was a visiting scholar and honorary researcher of the Institute of Asia Research at UBC. From 2002 to 2008, he had several appointments in the Shanghai Institute for International Studies, including director of the Department of Russian and Central Asian Studies, deputy director of the Department of European Studies, and associate research fellow of the Department of American Studies. He was also the standing director of the council of National Studies Center of SCO in China.

Prof. Lu’s research interests are in the areas of Sino-U.S. Russian Relations, Big Data Diplomacy, and Political Economy of “OBOR”. He published extensively in academic fields. His representative academic works include “Foreign Policy Decision-Making in the Era of Big Data”, “The Construction of ‘OBOR’ Big Data Decision-Making System”, “Game Model Analysis for Sino-U.S.-Russia Relations: Decision Level, Motivation and Process”, “Reflections on Sino-Central Asia Diplomacy under ‘OBOR’”, and “The Development of soft power of America and Its Enlightenment to China”.

Dr. Wang Jiangyu (SJD & LLM, University of Pennsylvania; MJur, Oxford; LLM, Peking University; LLB, China University of Political Science and Law) is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of the National University of Singapore. He was on secondament as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of The Chinese University of Hong Kong from August 2006 to July 2009. His teaching and research interests include international economic law, corporate and securities law, law and development, and Chinese legal system. He practiced law in the Legal Department of Bank of China and Chinese and American law firms. He served as a member of the Chinese delegation at the annual conference of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law Conference in 1999. He is a member of the Chinese Bar Association and the New York Bar Association. He is also an Executive Member on the Governing Council of the WTO Institute of the China Law Society, a Senior Fellow at the Law and Development Institute (LDI), and a fellow of the Asian Institute of International Financial Law (Hong Kong). He has also been invited expert/speaker for the WTO, International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/WTO) and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). He recently received the 2007 Young Researcher Award of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in recognition of his accomplishment in research from 2006-2007. Dr. Wang has published extensively in Chinese and international journals and newspapers on a variety of law and politics related topics. He is a regular contributor to leading newspapers and magazines in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Mainland China.

Professor Jeff Hong received his PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University in 2004, MSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati in 2001, and BEng in Automative Engineering and BEng in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1999. Prior to joining the City University of Hong Kong, he was Professor and Director of Financial Engineering Laboratory in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Professor Hong’s research interests include management sciences, operations research, financial engineering and risk management, and financial analytics. He published extensively on leading academic journals such as Management Science, Operations Research and INFORMS Journal on Computing. He was the winner of the 2009 Operations Best Paper Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers, the 2012 Outstanding Simulation Publication Award from the INFORMS Simulation Society, and the inaugural Outstanding Research Award from the Operational Research Society of China in 2014. He is currently an Associate Editor of Operations Research, Naval Research Logistics and ACM Transactions on Modeling and Computer Simulation.

Prof. Jiyi Yan is the Former Secretary of Party Committee. He is now also a retired professor of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests are in the areas of Operations Research, Combinatorial Optimization, System Science, and Information Science. He studied at the University of Science & Technology of China (USTC). Prior to his current appointments, Prof. Yan was the secretariat adviser in China Center of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (2008-2014). His previous major academic appointments include vice president of the China Association for Field Statistics Study, vice president of Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences (GSCAS) (1985-2001), and visiting scholar in Cornell University (1982-1984). He also had experience in teaching in USTC and GSCAS (1963-2001).

Prof. Yan was the Chief of editors for an internal academic journal, System Science Communication, of the Eurasian System Science Research Association. He was also the founding member of China Chapter, International Society for Information Studies (IS4IS). He is as well a main contributor for Encyclopedia for Decision Making (undergoing).

Prof. Wei Jiang received his Ph.D. from Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He is now the department head and professor of Antai College of Economics & Management at Shanghai Jiaotong University. Prior to his current appointments, he was a visiting associate professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management at HKUST (2009-2010). He was appointed as an assistant/associate professor and the director of Value Chain Enterprises program of School of Systems and Enterprises at Stevens Institute of Technology (2003-2008). He was a senior technical consultant in AT&T Labs, New Jersey (2000-2003) and a lecturer of School of Management, Xi’an Jiaotong University (1992-1996).

Prof. Jiang’s research fields include Operations Management, Quality Management, and Data mining. He has published extensively on major academic referred journals, including one international peer reviewed journal and 15 national peer reviewed journals. Prof. Jiang is now the associate editor of Naval Research Logistics, IIE Transactions, and Journal of Computational Statistics and Simulation. Prof. Jiang is also active in academic programs and corporate consulting projects, in which he has initiated seven projects from 2011 till present. Prof. Jiang has won the 2006 NSF CAREER Award in recognition of his achievements.

Xinshu Zhao (B.A., Fudan Univ., M.A. Stanford, Ph.D., Wisconsin-Madison) is Chair Professor of Communication, Cheung Kong Chair Professor of Journalism, Fudan University, Shanghai, and Emeriti Professor of Media and Journalism, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Zhao’s current work includes selective spiral effects of online and offline communication, and a range of methodological issues, including mediation, dissection analysis, effect size measures, intercoder reliability indices, and reconstructed experimental methods. He also studies voting, group decision making and electoral systems. He has over 100 publications, including a book in Chinese, Plight of Elections - A Critique of the World’s Election Systems and the Constitutional Reforms, expanded (3rd) edition, Sichuan People’s Publishing House, 2008, ISBN 978-7-220-07537-7.

Zhang joined Wind Information in 2009 and served as the Product Development Manager, then department head.

Zhang oversaw product design and technology development of Wind Financial Terminal, including stocks, commodities, indices, quantitative analysis, derivatives and etc. sectors.

Prior to Wind, Zhang worked in G.H. Financials and other hedge funds as interest rate derivatives and quantitative hedging trader.  

Wayne Yu is currently an Assistant Dean and a Professor of Finance at the College of Business in City University of Hong Kong. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, a Master of Arts degree in economics, and a Ph.D. degree in finance. In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). His research has been published in Annual Review of Financial Economics, the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of International Money and Finance, and the Journal of Financial Economics. His research findings have been featured in Businessweek and the Hong Kong Economic Journal.

Steven Kou is the Director of the Risk Management Institute. He is also a Professor of Mathematics at National University of Singapore. Formerly from Columbia University’s Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Professor Kou joined NUS as a Professor in Mathematics and Provost’s Chair in 2013.

Recognized internationally as one of the best in the research areas of Financial Mathematics/Engineering, Professor Kou’s most important works are on modelling jumps in asset pricing for equity, credit and fixed income markets and pricing of path-dependent options. His scholarly achievements have been recognized by the scientific community, as demonstrated by his receipt of the Erlang Prize (2002) from INFORMS, the leading association for professionals in the fields of analytics, management science and operations research. Professor Kou is currently also serving in the editorial boards of several top journals in his field, including Operations Research, Mathematical Finance, Mathematics of Operations Research, and Journal of Business and Economic Statistics.

Houmin Yan is the Chair Professor of Management Sciences and the Dean of Business at the City University of Hong Kong. He was a Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he directed the Executive Master of Science Program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and the Center of Research and Development for Supply Chain and Logistics management, Li & Fung Institute of Supply chain management & Logistics. He was an Associate Director and Science Advisor to Hong Kong R&D Center for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enabling Technologies. He was also a tenured Associate Professor at the School of Management, the University of Texas at Dallas. He received hisPh.D. from the University of Toronto, and both of his Master and Bachelor degrees from Tsinghua University and his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto.

His main research areas are stochastic models, supply chain management, contract design and evaluation and behavior models. He has published in journals such as Operations Research, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, IIE Transactions, Production and Operations Management, and IEEE Transactions. In 2004, his paper “Coordination of Supply Chains with Risk-Averse Agents” received the Wickhan-Skinner Best Paper Award from the 2nd World Conference on Production and Operations Management and the Society of Production and Operations Management (POMs). In 2005, his paper “Designing An Assembly Process with Stochastic Material Arrivals” has been awarded the Best Paper for “the focus issues on Operations Engineering for 2003-2004” from the Institute of Industrial Engineers(IIE). In 2012, his paper “Risk Analysis of Commitment-Option Contracts with Forecast Updates” has been awarded the Best Paper Prize in in Scheduling and Logistics from the Institute of Industrial Engineers(IIE).

Founded in 1984, CityU was formerly named as City Polytechnic of Hong Kong, and promoted as a full university in 1994. CityU is committed in the pursuit of excellence to provide professional education, to make a difference in the lives of next generation, and to bring benefits for society.

The NUS Risk Management Institute (RMI) was established in 2006 as a research institute at NUS dedicated to the area of financial risk management. The establishment of RMI was supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) under its program on Risk Management and Financial Innovation.

The Eurasian System Science Research Association (ESSRA) was formed by experts and scholars engaged in the research of Eurasian system science. It was officially registered on April 2019 and was approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People 's Republic of China (No. 115 [2009]). The ESSRA is a national academic group and an independent legal entity under the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People 's Republic of China.

The members of the ESSRA are from a wide range of academic background, including natural sciences, engineering sciences, social economics, and other overlapping fields. Academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, and other national academies of sciences account for more than 60% of the total members.

The ESSRA will further develop theory applications in the field of system science and provide governments with decision-making advices based on research results. Additionally, the ESSRA will collaborate with relevant departments, institutions, and academic organizations, to make contributions to civil academic research. The long-term goal of the ESSRA is to promote innovation of system science and create a high-end Eurasian think tank.
